About Me
Ohio writer and illustrator Allison J. Hirtle tells charming tales of curious animals and precocious children. She draws inspiration from those close to her heart: her five children, their three Italian Greyhounds, her family’s past and the land around her.
As a visual artist working in both traditional and digital media, she instills her thoughts and feelings into her drawings and paintings, connecting emotionally to the illustration. She is currently completing a BFA in illustration at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design.
Born in Massachusetts and having lived all-over North America she is happiest exploring the open road and the great outdoors. Passionate about her love of folktales and myths while possessing a light-hearted imagination since childhood, she is often compelled to write and illustrate for the child who resides within her and then for the child in others.
